Gunja – Kora India icon

Gunja

Gunja
The child Krishna is often seen adorned with the delicate Gunjamala that represents the unconditional love of Radha…Gunja seeds are mostly used in native jewellery and are also used as counter-weights in ancient India to measure gold because they are fairly constant in weight. The measure ‘Ratti’ is equal to one Gunja seed.
Such a unique Indian flower…..
Seen here inspired by the Gunja seeds – Rattis, are bold stripes in summer pastels, superimposed with delicate cutwork floral embroidery. Fabrics used are pure Chanderi and Cotton. Graceful and yet visually strong, these garments are truly statement pieces.
