Tarā

                                                                                                        Tarā
Tara is the supreme saviour and goddess of mercy in Buddhist philosophy. She is the feminine counterpart of the Bodhisattva  Avalokiteshvara. According to popular belief, she came into being from a tear of Avalokiteshvara, which fell to the ground and formed a lake. Out of its waters rose up a lotus, which, upon opening, revealed the goddess. Like   Avalokiteshvara, Tara is a compassionate, succouring deity who helps humanity to “cross over to the other shore.” She is the protectress of navigation and earthly travel, as well as of the spiritual journey along the path to enlightenment.

Our Tara collection in white, watery blue hues and dusky grey shades represent this graceful deity. Highligh.ted with delicate embroidered floral sprays and hand attached   buttons on block printed summer fabrics such as cotton Chanderi and fine silk, Tara is perfect for the hot and humid summer days.
