About Us
KORA is an extension of the creative expression and design philosophy of Ms. Anjali Kalia, who brings over three decades of experience in the fashion and textile industry. An award- winning alumna of NIFT Delhi, she received the Most Creative Collection Award upon her graduation in 1995.
Having worked across diverse spheres of design — from traditional craft to contemporary and high fashion, her creative journey has been deeply shaped by nature, Indian culture and the richness of its textile and craft traditions. In a world that is becoming increasingly westernised, she consciously seeks to preserve and carry forward an Indian aesthetic, creating a sense of continuity with our time-honoured traditions while allowing them to evolve with the present.
This vision lies at the heart of KORA — a brand that expresses an India that is moving forward, changing and evolving, while remaining inherently Indian in its soul. The team at KORA shares and extends this vision, bringing together traditional skills, contemporary sensibilities and a deep respect for craftsmanship.
Anjali's work is rooted in natural fabrics and techniques that celebrate the beauty, skill and individuality of the human hand. Her design language draws from the richness of Indian crafts while interpreting them with a quiet, contemporary sensibility.
A deeply spiritual person, her philosophy is also inspired by the ancient invocation:
Om Saha Navavatu
Saha Nau Bhunaktu
Saha Veeryam Karavavahai
Tejasvi Navadhitamastu
Ma Vidvishavahai
Om Shantih Shantih Shantih
May we be protected together. May we be nourished together. May we work together with great energy and strength. May our learning be illuminating and fruitful. May we never harbour ill feelings towards one another. Peace, Peace, Peace.
The spirit of togetherness, harmony, shared learning and collective growth expressed in this invocation finds resonance in her approach to life, design and the larger world around us.
She is also a Trustee of Pranam, a movement rooted in true spirituality that works towards awakening an awareness of the unbroken connection between humanity and nature.
For Anjali, design is more than the creation of garments. It is a form of expression that
brings together culture, nature, craftsmanship and consciousness — honouring the wisdom of the past while remaining relevant to the present and open to the future.
