Svāti

Of the many Nakshtras or lunar constellations, that are mentioned in Vedic astrology, Svāti is ruled by Vayu, the wind god who is connected to the cosmic life force. He correlates to both the internal and external winds or prānā as well as strength, power and movement.

Svāti nakshatra is considered very auspicious.  Legend has it that the arrival of the Chatak bird heralds the onset of the monsoon. Even in poetry, it is referred to as the bird that eagerly keeps his beak open, waiting for the first raindrop of Swati nakshatra to fall into it, it is not satisfied with water found anywhere on this earth. There is so much water in the pond, the river, the ocean - he won't take one drop of it. That is the nature of the Chatak….as if symbolises the bhāv, feeling - "I do not want anything else from anywhere; I want nothing but Your mercy. Please give it to me.”

May the drops of Supreme's grace descend upon us…..

Our pre-festive collection, Svāti, is inspired by this bhāv of surrender and devotion. Dusty colours of lilac blue yellow and pink with delicate hand-block printed dots highlighted with ‘star-like’  gota flowers add that touch of glamour. The ethereal scalloped organza at the hem, necklines and sleeve cuffs, enhances the look. What’s better to feel like a star but to BE one!
